Gathering Place Ministries

 

 

The Southern Brazoria County Gathering Place Interfaith Ministries was started in August, 2007 as an outreach ministry of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church by Brenda Maust with the help of A.J. Jeffers, a Deacon at Temple Baptist Church,  and 7 other volunteers.

 

The group searched for a way to help caregivers of family members with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. The group realized that caregivers badly needed to break the cycle of fatigue caused by care-giving.

 

Gathering Place Goals:

 

1. To provide respite for caregivers 

 

     2. To provide safe, stimulating socials  for people with                    memory disorders

 

     3. To help congregations build outreachAlzheimer’s          

         Ministries    

 

     4. To provide education to our caregivers  and to the          

         community about dementia.

 

Alvin Lutheran Church hosts Gathering Place at our facility on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 10AM - 2PM.
